Stephen Roberge, P.E.
The principal consultant and President of SJR Engineering, Inc. is Stephen Roberge. Mr. Roberge is a graduate of the civil engineering program at the University of Maine at Orono. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Maine and New Hampshire. He is currently one of perhaps a dozen individuals that have attained the "Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control" within the State of Maine. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and holds a designation as a State of Maine Registered Concrete Technician. He is also the engineering consultant to the Knox/Lincoln County Soil and Water Conservation District.
Mr. Roberge has spent the past 24 years of his professional career in the design and construction of civil site projects. These experiences include design and construction of roads, sewers, storm sewers, stormwater quality/quantity controls, erosion controls, phosphorus controls, gravel pit development, recreation facilities, as well as standard subdivision and site development design. He has established himself as a known quantity to Southern and Central Maine Planning Boards, Town Staff, Maine Soil and Water Conservation Districts, DEP Land Bureau, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
For the past 20 years, his efforts have focused on the civil/site engineering component for land planning site development. He has completed construction plans, specifications, and permits for a wide range of commercial, residential, municipal, and recreation projects. From this work, he has acquired an appreciation of environmental and land use issues, have ensured project compliance with regulatory guidelines and has a good understanding of the technical requirements of local planning boards, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Prior to devoting full time to private consulting, Mr. Roberge served as Engineering Manager for Titcomb Associates, a Falmouth, Maine based surveying company.
